One of my favorite places in Israel to visit is indeed the Dead Sea! And floating in the Dead Sea is what it’s all about!
A fantastic day trip, its located just south of Jerusalem and borders Jordan. The views surrounding this incredible location are seriously amazing!
Be prepared, because the temps are soaring in this natural valley and its HOT, HOT, HOT! Especially if you plan to visit during the summer months.
Because it’s such a touristy area, there are plenty of options while you’re there. Camping, hiking, hotels, beaches, and spa’s. My personal favorite is the Ein Gedyi Spa, where a general admission ticket is only 95 Shekels (about $25). This includes a pool overlooking the desert, salty hot tubs/spas, 3 mud tubs and a private beach down at the Sea. So worth the money spent!
Slathering your body with mud and washing it out in the Dead Sea is always a great experience, and also been said to be a natural skin moisturizer. And once you’re fully lathered, head on down and wash it off in the Sea. Oh, and floating in the Dead Sea is something incredible too!
And don’t forget, you’re in good company! It’s been said that the Dead Sea was a refuge for King David and has been known as one of the world’s first health resorts. Dead Sea Products are sold all around the world, along with healing salts and minerals. I suggest the body salts – they’re amazing!
So what are you waiting for? Make floating in the Dead Sea one of your next Destinations!
