Ice skating in Hamburg Germany? Yes, please! With the Winter Olympics in full gear, ice skating has once again taken its spot in our hearts. Triple Axels, Double Loops, Salchows… moves that are made to look easy on television, but a little more tricky in reality! But one thing is sure, watching it makes us want to get up and do it too! And there’s no better place to go than ice skating in Hamburg, Germany!
When I think of Outdoor Ice Skating rinks, my first thought is of the famous Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City. We’ve seen the romance in movies and videos, making us want to lace up our skates and hit the ice.
But for everyone on the other side of the world, there are many rinks to chose from, equally impressive. One rink I had the pleasure of skating at is the Eisarena Rink in Hamburg, Germany. A HUGE outdoor ice rink with activities for all ages is the place for some winter fun. You can even use cute, friendly penguins for the beginner skater.
It had been years and years since this Michigan girl laced up and glided across the ice, but ice skating is kind of like riding a bike… it just naturally comes back to you. Once I did a couple lap, I was back in the groove. Enjoying the music, the crisp winter air and watching my Brazilian friend learn to skate for the first time! 🙂
With a cup of hot chocolate in your hands and the smiles and laughs all around you, ice skating is the perfect winter activity for couples, families or just a group of friends. Bundle up and grab your cutest scarf and gloves, because you never know why you might meet.
So, if you’ve got the Olympic Skating bug, head out for some fun of your own. But i must warn you… most ice skating moves should come with the warning: Don’t try this at home! 🙂
